Subject: [mdbirding] Black Vulture Delaware NestCam

About 74 days after hatching, one of the black vulture chicks at a Northern Delaware nest site being video recorded 24/7 took its initial, 25 flight from a stone wall perch to join its parents up the yard. It was then observed hopping, almost bouncing, in a circle in front of the adults as if bragging about its latest exploit. The other chick held back, not yet convinced of the relative merits of flying. Last year the chicks hung around the nest site into July.
