Hi all,
I ran the Williamsport BBS route today and heard a EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE singing at stop 43, I waited a few minutes after the stop to document the bird (photos at link below). The location is Lehman's Mill Road and Marsh Pike, this is a small neighborhood with very little to no parking, I would think the best bet would be to drive the roads looking/listening for the bird. I am not familiar with traffic in the area so please be very very careful, there are no shoulders. Matt Hafner pointed out that this bird is less than 5 miles due south of a Pennsylvania population, it would be interesting to see how many are out there!!
Other excitement came in the form of MOURNING WARBLERs tending to nestlings on private property in Garrett County. Because of the sensitivity of the species and the property, I can't give details of the location, but I thought folks would be happy to know they are still around and successfully nesting. At Little Meadows Lake, there is a lingering male RING-NECKED DUCK hanging out with the geese.
