It is my hope that I finally have overcome the e-mail glitch, and I thank Jared for his patience. I'll find out soon enough when I do or do not get a bounceback in my other account.
I spent over an hour haunting the west side of Mt. Pleasant/Howard County Conservancy this morning, 7:45-9:10. While there was a nice variety of birds, including one vocalizing Willow, the Alder was not to be heard. I did briefly spot a silent empid in the so-called wetland area, but it was distant and I could not relocate when I got closer. I ran in to Jim Stasz, dunno if he or Ed had any luck after we parted company. Prairie Warblers were singing, as was a Yellow-breasted Chat. And a Warbling Vireo sang from along the stream. Uncharacteristically, I SAW rather than heard a male Yellow Warbler along the stream.
