Subject: [MDBirding] Least Terns, Anacostia River

Following is a sighting from Dave Boltz:
>
> Today I drove a van full of folks to Bladensburg Waterfront Park in Prince Georges County for a pontoon boat trip on the Anacostia river. Upon arriving I noticed 2 small Terns flying near the dock. Even without my binoculars I could see that they were too small for Forsters and lacked the more deeply forked tail of that species. Then they started calling the incessant ki-dee, ki-dee, diagnostic of the Least Tern. One other birder has already reported these on e-bird, so it was good to know I was not seeing and hearing things. Besides not usually seeing this species very often in the DC area, I also think them to be extremely early.
