That's interesting. I thought it was the Old World Cuculinaecuckoos that were brood parasites and not the New World cuckoos.

Subject: [MDBirding] Brood parasite cuckoo at Patuxent River SP
While fly fishing� for several hours on the Patuxent my son and I were treated to a terrific chorus of local birds including several warblers. The best spots were just east of Rt 97. Sadly, a pair or redstarts were feeding what I instinctively thought was a cowbird. When I brought my binocular up I saw that the young large bird was in fact a cuckoo.
