Subject: [MDBirding] Blue-winged Teal continues at Schoolhouse Pond

I saw the male Blue-winged Teal at Schoolhouse Pond both before work and at lunchtime today. As on the other days, the bird was mostly hidden in the vegetation at the rear of the pond. Otherwise, it has been fairly quiet at the pond and some of the breeding birds seem to have stopped singing as regularly as earlier in the breeding season. But, the continuing teal have been fun to follow this spring and summer. However, I have only seen the male over the last week or ten days, making me think that maybe only the male remains and that I may not have the breeding pair that I had hoped for. The Mallards and Wood Ducks have visible chicks around the pond, but only the male Blue-winged Teal has been visible in recent days. I haven't seen the female recently and I never saw any sign of Blue-winged Teal chicks, despite checking each day. Good birding,
