I had never found Henslow&#39;s Sparrows there in the past so I wanted to check out the recent reports. Though all the hayfields have been mowed the steeper slope on the west side of the road remains unused. We saw one Henslow&#39;s Sparrow singing there and one Grasshopper Sparrow singing also. A juvenile Grasshopper Sparrow was in the road allowing close approach. I heard a Bobolink but did not see any. Meadowlarks are doing well and one Kestrel was here also. We heard at least two Savannah Sparrows.</div>

My friend Jason and I also checked out Old Legislative Road on Thursday June 28. We also did not find any Golden-winged Warblers. We counted 5 Henslow's Sparrows in a walk of over dirt trail mostly along the east side of the road plus the roadside itself plus pieces of the trail on the west side of the road.

Piney Mountain Rd. in Garrett SF was quite productive (lots of B.T. Blue Warblers as was Finzel Swamp (pair of Am. Woodcock at dawn).
