Stopped in Quarry Lake tonight after successfully finding the great white heron in Fort Frederick.
At Quarry Lake, it is my sad duty to report the green heron nest has been destroyed. The great blue heron nest with the chick is also completely gone. The second great blue heron nest is still in tact but has no parent sitting on it. Someone please correct me if they disagree, but it appears the heron nesting season has ended here.
