The heron was not present at 7:30 when Marcy Stuzman and I arrived. We were treated to good looks a several Prothonotarys on the south side of the pond, but no heron. We walked down to the River and heard a Raven. And later west along the tow path along Big Pool. As we walked back, another birding acquaintance of Marcy's, her name escapes me, signaled Marcy, and we found the heron perched on a downed tree on the north side, about mid way down the pond.
We only glimpsed two Eurasian Collared Doves on Marsh Rd., just south of Reidtown Rd. in Reid late this morning.
Note that the gravel lot just south of Reidtown Rd. is private property, which we only learned after speaking with one of the neighbors. Nobody yelled at us, but be careful and respectful.
