Wednesday morning the heron showed up around 9:30 a.m.
It was best seen from the C&O Canal tow path trail which runs along the opposite side of the beaver dam trail. Kurt Schwarz got some super pics!
There is a parking area before the bridge (which marks the C&O Canal). You can park there and walk down to the tow path and the beaver pond.
