I spent my lunch break scanning the impoundments at Swan Creek. The highlights were 2 Short-billed Dowitchers that I believed to be of the subspecies *hendersoni* by the bright orange coloring underneath to the undertail coverts and on the edgings of the scapulars and a single adult Western Sandpiper. The Western itself isn't very unusual for July, but it was strange to me to see one in Fall migration before I've seen a Semi Sand. Heat shimmer was pretty brutal.
