A work acquaintance of mine showed me pictures of a drake red-breasted merg that he saw over a 4 day period between July 2 and July 5, 2012. It was stationed on a small sandy beach in what he described as "Lake Conoy" at Point Lookout State Park. This would be a flagged report if posted in eBird, and I thought I would share it with this board in case anyone might want to look for it to add to their St. Mary's July month list. The observer reported that it just hung around on the beach by day and disappeared in the evening, but did not look injured or sick to him. I will find a way to enter it into eBird by probably using a second ID and then describe who actually saw the bird in the comments.
