Throwing this out here for grins & giggles. A friend had a mallard nesting
in his yard. He & his family were eagerly awaiting the hatching.
Yesterday mama duck was on the nest, which contained about 10 eggs.
Today, the nest was empty. No ducks, no eggs, no evidence of eggs. He
was wondering did mama duck eat the egg shells? I can't seem to find a
definitive answer. So, anyone out there have any ideas?
