I enjoyed it,too, especially the warbler closeups and learning about Star Saphir, who is the friend of a friend.

I didn't see any comments about this documentary, so I'll just throw it out
there that Kim and I enjoyed it very much. The video footage of the birds
is excellent throughout and the stories were fairly interesting as well.

The portrayal of birders was very diverse in the sense of age, experience,
and seriousness. One of my favorite (and relatable) interviewees was a
young girl who could not focus on the camera or interviewer, her eyes
constantly scanning the surroundings for birds while she was talking. This
is absolutely how I carry on conversations outdoors so we got a good laugh
out of it. I thought it was interesting that author Jonathan Franzen, who
talks openly about his birding, was still seemingly embarassed by it. He
was carrying his strapless Swarovski binoculars in one hand, close to his
side, which I've (perhaps wrongly?) associated with people who are not
quite comfortable birding in public.

Anyway, it was a fun way to spend an hour and I recommend it. It's
available on-demand and online to HBO subscribers. Not sure when the DVD
will be available.
