Subject: [MDBirding] Pickering Creek Audubon C. (Talbot Co.)--Shorebirds

After successfully twitching the BT Godwit in Delaware this morning, I stopped at Pickering Creek on the way back around 6pm. Was pleased to see good numbers of waterbirds, including at least 12 Stilt Sandpipers, many SB dowitchers (at least one hendersoni), 10 Snowy Egrets, and 17 Least Terns. I see from eBird others had Little Blue Heron and Western Sandpiper earlier in the day. Quite nice variety and numbers for an inland freshwater impoundment. Another pleasant surprise was a Yellow Warbler. Won't speculate as to whether it was a migrant but one of only a handful of July eBird records for the county.

Also stopped by at Tanyard Marsh. The pair of Common Gallinules continue, but there was little in the way of shorebirds.
