Subject: [MDBirding] DC birds this morning

A dull and misty morning in DC. Very little save a singing Blue Grosbeak
and hundreds of juvenile robins at Kenilworth Park, but an adult Pectoral
Sandpiper on the off-limits softball field in Potomac Park (between the
Tidal Basin and the Potomac between the 14th St Bridge and Memorial
Bridge). This area is being re-seeded and has some open mud and looks good
for shorebirds come August- probably an early morning visit after
overnight rain would be interesting. There was another shorebird there
earlier that flew off as I arrived.
Also a Forster's tern flying high up the Potomac.
