Subject: [MDBirding] McKeldin Area/Patapasco SP, 7/22, Cuckoos, Prothonotary

I made my first visit (with Ruth Bergstrom) this morning to the McKeldin Area of Patapsco SP and found some nice birds on what was an overall and expected slow day. We had a few highlights: 3 yellow-billed cuckoos, including one especially nice view; a prothonotary warbler was near the bridge on Marriottsville Rd. and 1 Louisiana Waterthrush. It was really amusing to see a family of 4 acadian flycatchers perched squeezed together on a branch at one point. Many acadian flycatchers. 5 woodpecker species. 4 yellow-throated vireos. 7 wood thrush. Many pewee and and a few phoebe.
