I was looking for the nearest place where Least Terns had been seen, and was surprised to find this place, which is quite close to me, and easy to reach, and I didn't know existed. Didn't see any terns today, but it's a nice birdy place where they could show up again, I think. Certainly easy to get great views of the Anacostia, mudflats, and marsh from the walkways and bridge.

Nice to see 3 cormorants, 3 great blues, a green heron, kingfisher, kingbird, and at least 10 killdeer running around, plus the usual--75 Canada Geese, 20 Ring-bills and one Laughing Gull, and just before I left, an Osprey right in front of me as it looked for fish. (Complete list of 19 on ebird.) Oddest sight was the 17 pigeons down on the mudflats; guess they've been hanging out with the killdeer too long!
