Subject: [MDBirding] Swan Creek at lunch

Took my lunch break at Swan Creek today to take advantage of the overcast
skies. There was no heat shimmer and it was relatively cool! I felt good
identifying the vast majority of the birds. Unfortunately today was still
not the day I find a stint. Gail and Barry were still there when I left
and may have a few differences to add.

Shorebird numbers:

11 Semi Plovers
1 Killdeer (certainly more must have been around)
9 Lesser Yellowlegs (no Stilt Sandpipers for me)
450 Semipalmated Sandpipers (estimated 500 peeps in reasonably close, not
nearly as many Leasts as previous trips)
14 Western Sandpipers
50 Least Sandpipers (including a few juveniles, my first of the season)
3 White-rumped Sandpipers (all adults)
50 peep sp. (estimate along the back edges of the cells)
7 Pectoral Sandpipers

Good birding!
