Laura, I hope you can go back to Bombay Hook in October. It is at its best in spring and fall. Pat

Again, wanted to thank everyone for the feedback!
I ended up going up to Bombay Hook NWR yesterday. It was quite an overwhelming experience as I spent most of the time observing the birds with my binocs than shooting them. I very much enjoyed it. I tried to bird on the trails but the mosquitos and horse flies were bothering me so bad, I decided to stick to my car.
Birds included Blue Grosbeaks(everywhere), Marsh Wrens, Avocets(100s), Glossy Ibis, Swamp Sparrows, Ospreys, Bald Eagles, TONS of peeps(the highlight of those being a Pectoral Sandpiper), Black-Necked Stilts, Herons, Egrets, Plovers and the highlight of all, a LEAST BITTERN. Which surprisingly was out in the open.
Here are a few of the photos that I did take:

Good birding!
