Subject: [MDBirding] Birding on Facebook

Just recently, Ohio joined the growing list of states on Facebook with a dedicated birding page/group for their state.

Already, it's mirroring what other states have experienced: lots of input from all types of birders, from experts to beginners.

Useful information like news of a Swallow-tailed Kite, the pending eBird scheduled outage, the local connection to Ohio regarding the new species discovered in Peru, help locating specific birds in the state and even posts about great places to bird / visit within Ohio... have been posted, just this week alone.

Does anyone know if MD has any plans to create a group page on Facebook?

In local news, I drove down John Brown Road in QA looking for the Uppies. There were none present / visible this morning. There was a distant dog (beagle perhaps), with a bark very similar to the call of a Ring-necked Pheasant. ;)

Best,
