I think this is a great idea. I'm a member of a couple of other FB birding groups, including Pennsylvania. The PA Birders group has 512 members and was only established a few months ago.

I find that the format encourages more informal discussion, is really useful for posting photos of ID challenges and, most importantly, is a great way of engaging less experienced birders, who may find list serves intimidating.

Good luck to whoever has the time to set this up!
