Hi all,
No luck relocating the melanistic (?) Killdeer this morning, but all the birds looked black anyway from the backlighting. Shorebirding with a sunrise in the background isn't the most practical activity.
HOWEVER, there is an American Avocet in the North Cell. It's about 2/3 of the way out, just inside from the cross-dike. I watched it feeding for a bit around 6:30.
