-For those on Facebook, you may visit / join the brand-new MD Birding Group site here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/MDBirding/
-For those on Twitter, you can follow MDRareBirdAlert here: https://twitter.com/MDRareBirdAlert And you may participate simply by texting your sightings to the 443-924-6393.
If you are signed up on neither social media site, you do not need to do anything and you WILL NOT miss a beat (*or should I say, a BIRD).
Everyone is encouraged (as always) to please post ALL of your notable MD bird sightings here on the google groups email list / site. *Despite not being able to get out and bird as often as I'd like, I know I will continue to email any notable bird to <MDBIRDING...>*.
*** It bears repeating, the Facebook & Twitter additions ARE NOT replacing the current protocol for reporting / learning about bird sightings in our great state. These are merely yet another outlet created to embrace the new social media currently available today, and hopefully generate enthusiasm and interest in Maryland birding.
Both experiments are in their infancy, and in the end... they will only be as good as the contributions made by the birding community. Lastly, and perhaps most important, if you'd like to participate by being an admin for the Facebook group site, please contact me via email.
Have a fantastic evening.
Good Birding,
Dan Haas St. Margaret's, MD nervousbirdsatgmail.com
