Subject: [MDBirding] Swan Creek (AA Co.) this Wed. Morning

Visited early this morning before work. Light was not good, but
that's the only time I can make it. Shorebird numbers appeared down
significantly from what was reported to eBird yesterday, but there was
a RUDDY TURNSTONE in the north cell when I arrived, which is uncommon
at this location. Other birds of note were a couple of STILT
SANDPIPERs, 48 CASPIAN TERNs, a family of BLUE GROSBEAKS, a PEREGRINE
FALCON looking for a shorebird breakfast, and a YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO
carrying a large cicada. Not sure if it was transporting food to a
nest or just figuring out how to consume such a large feast.

Good birding!
