Fort DeRussy - Rock Creek Park this morning.
The cicadas were very annoying today and made it hard to hear any kind of
song or chip notes.
Good news was there was a small flock:
Black-and-white warbler 1
American redstart 2
White-breasted nuthatch 3
Downy woodpecker 1
Red-bellied woodpecker 1
Blue-gray gnatcatcher 2
Tufted titmouse 2
Carolina chickadee - 1
Three other things of note
1)A willow type flycatcher hunting in the Oregon Ave community garden
2) Barred owl hunting rats last night in Lincoln Park, DC @ 8:30pm
3) I rarely have ruby-throated hummingbirds on bird surveys. This morning a
RTHU was deep in the wood at Rock Creek.
