Subject: [MDBirding] Marbled Godwit at Swan Creek: Follow-up

Thank you Bill Hubick for discovering and then getting the word out about
this fantastic bird so quickly! Great find.

The bird was enjoyed this afternoon by a few lucky birders: Ed Boyd,
Marshall Iliff, Jim Stasz, Tom Field and myself. We stayed until the
closing bell rang at 3:30. As we we're packing up our gear, I decided to
fling my camera up and fire a few more shots of this wonderful shorebird,
which was hanging out in the furthest, Northeastern-most portion of the
South cell (by the outflow area, if that helps). I was using the
'quantity, not quality approach' with my camera... just holding the shutter
down until about 25 photos were taken. Luck would surely allow for one
photo to have minimal heat haze and extra-clarity /focus. We all quickly
packed up and left the site.

When I got home, the house was quiet, so I uploaded the photos. In that
roll of digital film, I managed to get the bird in flight! Not to worry,
it looked to be heading back to where it was earlier when Bill originally
found it, still within the South cell.

I believe Swan Creek opens at 7:30AM tomorrow, but if there is an exception
made for this bird, reply all Tim! ;)
