I went out this morning expecting to see some migrant warblers but found none. Still, it was nice to be out with the temperature less than 60 degrees.
Glen Falls - Yellow-billed Cuckoo 1, Hummer 1, Acadian Flycatcher 1 heard only calling not singing, Red-eyed Vireo 6 (and still singing), Raven 1 heard only flying toward Baltimore, Gnatcatcher 1, Indigo Bunting 4.
North Liberty Lake - The lake is down slightly. We have had too much rain this summer to produce much in the way of mud flats, just a little around the edges. Today I saw 1 Great Blue Heron, 1 Green Heron, 6 Semipalmated Sandpipers, and 3 Least Sandpipers.
Bachman Valley Road - A Great Egret dropped from the sky and landed in a tree over a farm pond just east of Route 97.
Private Farm near Westminster - Hummer 2, Empidonax 1, Phoebe 1, Catbird 6, Thrasher 1, Yellowthroat 1 heard only, Chipping Sparrows still have dependent young, Baltimore Oriole 1 heard only.
Cranberry Reservoir - Down a little exposing some mud in front with one each of Great Blue Heron, Green Heron, Spotted Sandpiper, and Solitary Sandpiper.
Morgan Run NEA, south side - Pewee 2 heard only, Catbird 20, Yellowthroat 8, Field Sparrow 1 still singing.
At home - 2 Hummers battling over the feeder.
