Seen between 4:30 and 5 pm on the south side of the rode in the cove closest to the bridge on the Caroline County side. It was extreme low tide and the bird was standing at the edge of the water. I missed it on first approach from the Talbot County side, but it was quite obvious on my return in the opposite direction about 10 minutes later. This hour is rough for birders because of 1) horrible light and 2) heavy commuter traffic. Be safe.
Also present: wood duck mallard pectoral sandpiper semipalmated sandpiper least sandpiper killdeer semipalmated plover laughing gull (hundreds loafing on the flats) ring-billed gull Forster's tern American crow American goldfinch
