Since the weather has sort of cooled down and my ankle sufficiently healed, I've been resuming my early morning fitness walks which frequently devolve into birding strolls.� Today didn't appear to be one of those days until I heard the distinct kronk of a common raven.� Well, that stopped me dead in my tracks.� I came to a grinding halt and started looking for it.� It continued to call several more times.� I found it as it was mobbed by a couple of crows that drove it away.� It was distinctly larger than the American Crows and had a wedge shaped tail.� Last year, we thought we had heard one in the neighborhood, but had not seen it.
So, any of you folks who are birding the southwest side of Anne Arundel county, keep your eyes & ears alert.
