Gail and Barry having other activities today were not at WRP, so here is a brief account of what a few of us found this morning.

Pleasant weather and much better light than yesterday's but much fewer birds overall and (sigh) fewer Warblers.

The grass meadow with the short trees was active when we started about 7:30- 7:45 AM with a Northern Parula, and a few Chestnut-sided Warblers, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, Flycatchers (Pewees mostly). One young unidentified Trails. Beautiful male Redstart. But the activity died down pretty fast and did not move somewhere else. Nothing along the train tracks, nothing on the River Birches, not much along the lake, except for a Black and White Warbler. But as I was taking a last look along the lake, I relocated a Black and Whites and while I was trying to photograph it another one appeared and then a small mixed flock (9:30 to 9:40 AM)! It had at least one Magnolia , 2 Canadas, a few Chestnut-sided, one Restart, one Red-Eyed Vireo. Many Chipping Sparrows, some Robins, and several Flickers were near the brick house at the end of the upper Shorefield parking lot. So, not so bad in the end.

Below is the complete eBird list compiled by Linda Friedland, with her, Lydia Schindler's and my observations combined.
