Subject: [MDBirding] Wheaton Regional Park today

Hi all,

A damp start to the day, then rather dark and gloomy for a while, sun finally breaking through. More birders about today. But this was, for WRP, a rather slow day or perhaps, a frustrating day would be a better term as the birds wanted to be uncooperative -- staying high in the trees, or behind vines, or melting away just as we started to get to grips with them. Barry and I tallied 8 species of warbler, there were 11 seen in toto (Jeff Shenot saw Yellow, Blackburnian and Baybreast which we missed) but numbers not particularly high; several of the Empids seen remained frustratingly unidentified as well. The cold front which seems on the way should shake things up a bit, we hope!
