Today I was at the Fair Hill Nature Center in Cecil County mostly looking for odonates, but I did have great looks at a lovely Yellow-bellied Flycatcher behind the pond below the center. It was a bright green, compact, big headed Empid with a very yellow throat, green vest and strong yellow wash to the rest of the underparts. I was intrigued that there was a slight teardrop shape to the eyering. The bill was broad-based with convex sides and entirely yellow below. Wings were nearly black and showed strong contrast to the wingbars.
