Subject: [MDBirding] Wheaton Regional Park today

Hi all,

The last day of August! It has been a great August so far at WRP -- however today was, as we expected with the hot weather, a lot slower than the last two days. The birds were around but we and the other birders present really had to work for them. A drop-off in Orioles and Pewees, Robins still passing by but fewer of them. We did luck into a couple of small flocks and scattered individuals. A Yellow-bellied Flycatcher was around, perhaps one of the ones from yesterday. Barry and I saw 8 species of warbler, most numerous Redstart and Magnolia (other birders added Blackburnian and Nashville, plus Indigo Bunting and a heard Y-B Cuckoo). We need another cold front!
