Jared, Todd, et all,

Saturday AM, Bill Schreitz joined me for sunrise at Sandy Point. We
noticed this one bird, and I actually joked with Bill about it being a
Red Crossbill. It was calling, but we wrote it off as a Goldfinch.
Perhaps I should blame my untrained ears or maybe, I just need to
remember to always expect the unexpected (and to be more thorough in
the field). In any case, it was a gray morning and I was trying to
show Bill where to look in the pine, so I fired off a shot (two
actually) to show him in my camera where to train his bins. It sat
motionless and we marveled at two Red-breasted Nuthatches instead of
focusing on this bird.

Bad call? Here are the two shots. They're hardly satisfactory, but
unedited in terms of saturation, exposure, etc.
