The morning seemed bleak with little promise of a banner day. A flyover Merlin at first light was super...and my first Palm Warbler of the season (eastern) out in the fields of western Howard County. The rain made us worry for the cameras so we quit early.
Later in the day I decided to chase the Philadelphia Vireo at the Howard Conservancy that had been found by Jeff Culler. Was lucky to spot it but the biggest thrill was a 4 SPARROW day :) An unexpected surprise early migrant

Then to top it off the Mourning warbler wasn't bad. I heard an unfamiliar chip in the thicket after I had just said to Emy....this is a perfect spot for a Mourning Warbler and there it was. Video is very poor with showing much of the bird but enough to verify. The chipping was also very distinct and continuous.
