Subject: [MDBirding] A few nice yard migrants

Morning all,
A few nice migrants seen this morning included a cute and tiny Least Flycatcher, seen well in good light (and in poor light) as it moved all around the yard, both high and very low (in a dogwood, below eye-level in full sun). It was very active, going from a high perch in bad light in the far backyard, to excellent light down low in the side yard, actively "flycatching", and at one point being chased by a chickadee!. Also seen were an angry Scarlet Tanager, chasing bluebirds from the grape vines up high in the back, an unexpected flyover RED-HEADED WOODPECKER, heading NNW pretty early, as well as a large flock of flyby Cedar Waxwings, Pileated WP, Downy WP, a pair of White-breasted Nuthatches as well as most of the regulars. No warblers though, but it was a quick walk as I had to leave early.
