Hi All,

I was over at Patterson Park between 7 and 9 this morning. It was cool when I first got there, but became warmer and a bit breezier towards 8:30. I had several warblers, mostly on the North end of the Park. The best was a NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH foraging in the fallen branches by the community garden. In the same area a pair of ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAKS were perched in the treetops calling loudly to one another. Closer to fountain there was an immature MAGNOLIA WARBLER along with an AMERICAN REDSTART. Down by the Boat Lake there was a GREEN HERON and a bit of cool non bird-life in the form of some monarch caterpillars and a question-mark butterfly. Near the cypress grove above the lake a female MERLIN was perched for about five minutes before taking off down the hill after some starlings. An OSPREY and a pair of BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS flew by at around the same time.

Good Birding!
