Evening all,
While out on the deck just a bit ago watching my farmer/neighbor rolling straw with his big John Deere, etc.(always fun to watch!) suddenly I looked up and there were two hot air ballons soaring by our yards over the treetops. While not all that uncommon here, I went in and got the camera with the telephoto lens and shot some pics of the balloons. Then sat down to check out the feeders and grabbed a couple of pics of a darkish bird at the sunflower feeder, which turned out to be an immature/female type PURPLE FINCH. Keep an eye on your feeders folks. I almost missed this one.
Lots of hummers around lately, fighting, etc. but nothing as exotic as Peters Magnificent!
