Hi,

I also had a PURPLE FINCH male, at my feeders yesterday (Thurs.)
afternoon. It took me by surprise, earliest ever. This was after coming
back from Wooten's Landing, AA county. Nice looks at a PHILA. VIREO, at
Wooten's, as well as several BLACKBURNIAN WARBLERS. Also had a Cuckoo,
with a black bill. I know Yellow-bill juvenilles can have a black bill,
but this was a lot more slender than a yellow. Looked like a good
candidate for a BLACK BILLED CUCKOO. Unfortunately, did not get good
looks at the tail, but this bird just looked different to me. I see YELLOW
BILLED CUCKOOS on my property frequently (I believe they may nest), since I
have several acres of woods. Also had a YELLOW BILLED at Wooten's
yesterday. Sorry report is so late, but didn't get much sleep several
days, working night shifts. That's ok, the things we do for birding!
