I have enjoyed A Red-breasted Nuthatch (maybe more than one) around my yard over last week or so and seen/heard 3 or 4 at McKee-Beshers WMA over last few weeks.
Just for the fun of it, I went to eBird and compared Red-breasted Nuthatch reports in MD region, Sep '11 vs. Sep '12. Quite an impressive difference.
