CBF's Senior Educator Bill Portlock spotted an extremely rare Sabine's Gull at the North River Wastewater Treatment Plant last week!
Here's what Bill had to say: "As the bird appeared healthy and flying, and was solitary, birders should be on the lookout for this smallish, beautiful, gull-like tern in the Shenandoah Valley...Any gull is somewhat unusual in the Shenandoah Valley...but this one certainly was. It's normal range is the Arctic Circle!"
