Subject: [MDBirding] PG county fall count: Laurel

Here are the results for my portion (with Bob Elvander and Frances
Richardson) of the Laurel/Beltsville-area PG county fall count.
Highlights included BALD EAGLE, RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH, SWAINSON'S THRUSH
(yard bird!), and BROWN-HEADED COWBIRD (all absent from my last 2 full
counts), along with a decent selection of warblers (9 species, including
NASHVILLE, BLACKPOLL, and PINE), and unusually large numbers of some
species (e.g., ROCK PIGEON, EUROPEAN STARLING, and COMMON GRACKLE). The
aggregate numbers from eBird are below, with 2011 and 2009 shown for
comparison (I wasn't able to do a full count in 2010; note not all the
same locations were sampled each year). Enjoy!
