Hi everyone,
John Hubbell and I had a great day at Point Lookout State Park on Saturday (complete list below), highlights included an AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER in the pond at the point, a YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER, a CONNECTICUT WARBLER, a NORTHERN PINTAIL flying up the bay, and a total of 21 species of warbler. We checked Beauvue Ponds in the afternoon and were happy to find some recently returned NORTHERN SHOVELLERs, a BLUE-WINGED TEAL (only my second in SM) and 2 RING-NECKED DUCKs.
On Sunday, I covered various parts of southern PG county for the fall count, the major highlight being the WESTERN KINGBIRD that flew in at Milltown Landing early in the morning, there was nice diversity overall here too (complete list below). Later in the day I checked Hunting Creek mudflats in Virginia, there was an AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER that flushed over PG waters with all of the gulls when an eagle landed nearby.
