Yesterday was one of my best warbler days in recent years with 11 species. I started at a private farm near Westminster:
Ruby-throated Hummingbird 4 Unidentified Empidonax 3 Phoebe 2 Yellow-throated Vireo 1, heard only, singing Philadelphia Vireo 1 Red-eyed Vireo numerous Blue Jay 2 highflyers early that may have been migrants Red-breasted Nuthatch 1, heard only House Wren 2 Catbird 7 Black & white Warbler 1 Tennessee Warbler 6 Nashville Warbler 1 Yellowthroat 9 Parula 2 Magnolia Warbler 6 Blackburnian Warbler 1 Chestnut-sided Warbler 3 Blackpoll Warbler 1 Black-throated Green Warbler 4 Scarlet Tanager 2
Later on a short walk at Hashawha:
Yellow-billed Cuckoo 1 Phoebe 1 Red-breasted Nuthatch 1, heard only House Wren 1 Catbird 3 Tennessee Warbler 1 Yellowthroat 3 Redstart 2, one adult male Black-throated Green Warbler 2 Indigo Bunting 1
At Cranberry Reservoir:
Canada Goose 8 Blue-winged Teal 3 Shoveler 2 Green-winged Teal 1 Pied-billed Grebe 1 Great Blue Heron 2 Great Egret 1 Bald Eagle 1 adult on the shore
