Subject: [MDBirding] Red-headed Woodpecker at Fort Smallwood

Hi Everyone,

The best bird of an afternoon walk at Fort Smallwood was a juvenile RED-HEADED WOODPECKER on a snag north of the pond (along the main road through the park). I also had a couple ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAKs on my platform feeder at home. When I got back from Fort Smallwood, a BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON flew over and called.

Good birding,

Bill
