I had some obligations and commitments mid-morning but before and after I was able to do some birding for the day. I started predawn in Howard County and spent around 15 minutes each along Hipsley Mill Rd (the woodcock spot) and Annapolis Rd 9horse trailer parking area). At both locations I could here the chip notes of Swainson's Thrushes. At both locations they all appeared to be on the ground. During the 15 minutes or so I was in each area I would hear them every 10-15 seconds. I then headed over to the upper end of Tridelphia Reservoir. I checked the area at the uppermost parking lot and Green Ridge Rd for shorebirds but had no luck. I did find a female Black-throated Blue Warbler (female) at Green Ridge Rd. Not even any killdeer...
After taking care of business I checked Fulton Pond...besides the 6 Killdeer the only other shorebird I saw was a LEAST. At one point there were between 30-40 Chimney Swifts flying over the pond...no swallows.
I then headed to Henryton Rd and went all of the way to the end...things were quiet. On the way back up the road I found a small pocket of warblers which included:
