Sorry for the messup but I must have hit SENT without realizing it before completing my email...Here is the rest of the story...
then headed to Henryton Rd and went all of the way to the end...things were quiet. On the way back up the road I found a small pocket of warblers which included:
2 N. Parulas 1 Black-throated Green 1 Black-throated Blue (male) 1 Prairie (seemed odd in the forest) 1 Magnolia (which would be the first of many for the afternoon)
I then headed over to Carroll county via Marriottsville Rd and wanted to get down closer to the river. Off of Henryton Rd on this side there is a closed off old road on my county map...Henryton Center rd...I parked at the top and then walked down to the river and then along the railroad tracks. I found a couple pockets of warblers, etc. that included:
1 Blue-headed Vireo 2 Ruby-crowned Kinglets 2 Black-throated Blues...both females 1 Ovenbird 9 Magnolias 3 Black-throated Greens 1 Ovenbird 2 Chestnut-sided Warblers 3 Red-breasted Nuthatches (I also heard them in Howard Co. at both stops along Tria delphia Reservoir)
I then headed up to the end of Oakland Mill Rd (Liberty Reservoir) and found things to be rather slow, but I did have 1 nice warbler...TENNESSEE!
My last stop of the day was at Morgan Run NEA...Things were extremely quiet (about 45 minutes before sunset)...On my walk eading in a westerly direction I had a Cooper's Hawk fly over which certainly did not help. I heard a flyover BOBOLINK and saw it quickly drop down for 30 seconds before taking off again. the only warbler I saw /heard the entire time I was there was the chip not of a single Common Yellowthroat. it was a beautiful day to be out!
