I walked a bit on the River trail at Great Falls yesterday (Thursday) afternoon. I didn't expect much, bird wise, and was surprised to see 18-20 Pied-billed Grebes on the Potomac just up from Conn Island. This was the most Grebes I have seen there since last March, or so. Also, found a Magnolia warbler, and my FOS Ruby-crowned Kinglet foraging in a tree on the river bank . The seasons are surely changing.
