Subject: [MDBirding] Connecticut Warblers


At this time of year the question always comes up - are some of these actually look-alike Yellow-throats, which now have a certain amount of eye-ring or spectacles? I think not many, but I've noticed a good field mark not mentioned in the field guides, which clearly separates them (tho' not Connecticut from Mourning), so I'll offer it here - black tips on the primaries. The attached photo, from Adkins Arboretum,�clearly shows this feature. I, at least, find this�useful, especially�when the face is not clearly visible.
